A Boy and His Bike Panhead repair and restoration Ormond Beach, FL

Remember when you saw your first bike and fell in love? This is going to bring all that back. Back in the late 70's our buddy Steve's older brother bought a worn out 61 Duo-Glide with dreams of getting it on the road. Well, we all know how those things go - it didn't happen. Steve was a little guy and watched that bike just sitting in the garage gathering dust. He kept watching it and thinking about it until he bought it from his brother in 2006. Steve pulled it out and started messing around and realized it needed more than what he could do or had time for, so it sat until last year when he brought the Panhead to the shop to have Jerry get it running. Steve wanted to keep the bike original so Jerry did a complete engine overhaul (you know with this old stuff it's all or nothing). Jerry disassembled the engine and most of the bike, had the fins and exhaust ports on the heads repaired, overhauled the rocker arms, put in new push rods and oversized lifters, bored out the lifter blocks, rebuilt the engine with all new hardware, NOS stainless steel valve covers, new S&S Cycle pistons, overhauled the flywheels, with all new bushings, races, and bearings. Jerry balanced then engine and installed an S&S cam shaft and oil pump, modifying the oiling system. Jerry rewired the whole bike, factory style. He converted it to 12 volt with a Cycle Electric generator and electronic ignition. Jerry put the bike back together with some "new" tanks on that Steve found. So now Steve now has a one kick Pan and plans of rebuilding the transmission next year.

Update; transmission was rebuilt and installed, I'll find the pictures and post them. We have brought Jerry's skill and talent to Ormond Beach, FL just a few miles from Daytona Beach.
